Controlled Environment for Research on Ecological-support Systems

Welcome to the Mars CERES Project Website.

The Mars CERES Project is the Senior Design Project of a team of students at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Partially based on the Mars Direct Plan headed by Dr. Robert Zubrin, CERES is designed to test the feasibility of a sustained greenhouse structure on the surface of Mars. The Mars Deployable Greenhouse [MDG] will contain several hydroponic growing bays to provide a nutrional supplement to the crews diet.

CERES was named after the Roman goddess of the harvest and agriculture. She helped to bring life to areas once considered barren. In this respect, the MDG will bring life to the surface of Mars in the form of growing crops.

So please feel free to explore the site, learn about the team members, read the documents and mission goal, and visit the various resource links provided.
